Carolina Winter League, Day 3: Seeding Settled at Gateway Park

The last day of round-robin in the Carolina Winter League came to our home court in Travelers Rest. It was sunny, and in the upper 70s, so we added sun protection to the packing list: canopies, sunscreen, hats, and sunglasses. The GVL club provided snacks and water.

We had the goals out and the canopies up by 11, thanks to a handful of folks who showed up early without being asked. We also had several spectators stop by to see what was going on, watch a game or two and some even helped up grill a few veggie burgers for the players!

At the end of the day, our GVL crew decompressed with some parachute time.

Results

Southeast of Heaven won both games, including a 13–12 win over Good Luck With That!, and finished the round robin 4–1 as the top seed. Good Luck With That!, The Golden Ghouls and Purple Reign all finished 3–2 with 6 points. Rankings went by points first, then head-to-head record, which put them in the following order heading into the finals.

Thank you to everyone who came out to Gateway, and to the GVL folks who set up, fed people, and broke everything down at the end. Three weeks until the finals!
