June – Bike Polo Teamwork

In June, as a club, we are focusing on passing over forcing plays, communicating clearly, and building a court dynamic that lifts everyone up.

Why Teamwork Matters

Teamwork matters because bike polo is more fun, and more effective, when it's played as a team sport rather than five separate solo efforts sharing a court. Supporting a less confident player, celebrating someone else's good play, and adapting your own game to fit the group all build the kind of club we want to be. This month is about practicing that on purpose.

Foundation Focus for June

This month is about steady, observable habits:

  1. Passing instead of forcing solo play

  2. Communicating clearly

  3. Supporting less confident players

  4. Celebrating other players' successes

  5. Adapting plays to help the team

  6. Creating a positive court dynamic

Bingo Card

This bingo card is meant to provide structure. It highlights the habits and skills we are highlighting this month. You will likely fill in many squares naturally simply by showing up to pick up and playing bike polo.

What "Success" Looks Like

Success in June doesn't necessarily mean winning games or scoring goals. It can mean:

  • Passing to a teammate instead of forcing a play

  • Noticing and supporting a teammate who needed it

  • Giving someone a genuine shoutout

  • Leaving a session feeling like part of a team

Come play with us at Gateway Park in Travelers Rest on Tuesday evenings and Saturday afternoons, or at Malvern Hills Park in Asheville on Sunday afternoons. Try a drill, fill in a BINGO square or two, or simply enjoy the company. Everyone's welcome.
