August – Bike Polo Shooting Goals

In August, as a club, we are focusing on taking accurate, intentional shots, choosing good moments to shoot, and following through on the ones that don't go in.

Why Shooting Matters

Shooting matters because it's how possession turns into points, but a good shot depends on more than a strong swing. Reading the moment, choosing the right angle, and following your own rebound all separate a purposeful shot from a rushed one. This month is about building that judgment alongside the technique.

Shooting Focus for August

This month is about steady, observable habits:

  1. Taking accurate, intentional shots

  2. Choosing good moments to shoot

  3. Practicing shot angles or techniques

  4. Following missed shots

  5. Improving consistency

  6. Converting opportunities into goals

Bingo Cards

This bingo card provides structure. It highlights the habits and skills we're focusing on this month. You will likely fill in many squares naturally simply by showing up to pick up and playing bike polo.

What “Success” Looks Like

Success in August doesn't necessarily mean winning games or scoring goals. It can mean:

  • Recognizing a good shot before taking it

  • Following your own rebound instead of watching it roll away

  • Feeling more consistent with your form

  • Converting a chance you might have missed last month

Come play with us at Gateway Park in Travelers Rest on Tuesday evenings and Saturday afternoons, or at Malvern Hills Park in Asheville on Sunday afternoons. Try a drill, fill in a BINGO square or two, or simply enjoy the company. Everyone's welcome.
