February – Bike Polo Equipment Maintenance

In February, as a club, we are focusing on caring for our gear, catching small problems early, and building maintenance into how we play.

Why Maintenance Matters

Maintenance matters because a bike or mallet that fails mid-game isn't just frustrating; it's a safety issue. Regular checks catch small problems before they become bigger ones, and a club where people share tools and know-how is a club where fewer people get stuck on the sideline. This month is about building that habit, not just for your own gear but for the group's.

Gear Focus for February

This month is about steady, observable habits:

  1. Checking bike safety before playing

  2. Fixing or adjusting bike or mallet

  3. Learning new repair skills

  4. Helping others fix their gear

  5. Staying ahead of problems

  6. Sharing tools and spare parts

Bingo Card

This bingo card provides structure. It highlights the habits and skills we're focusing on this month. You will likely fill in many squares naturally simply by showing up to pick up, and playing bike polo.

What "Success" Looks Like

Success in February doesn't necessarily mean winning games or scoring goals. It can mean:

  • Catching a problem before it becomes a bigger one

  • Feeling more confident with basic repairs

  • Knowing which tools you have and which you need

  • Helping a teammate with their gear

Come play with us at Gateway Park in Travelers Rest on Tuesday evenings and Saturday afternoons, or at Malvern Hills Park in Asheville on Sunday afternoons. Try a drill, fill in a BINGO square or two, or simply enjoy the company. Everyone's welcome.
